Omoda has released the details of their new C7 SUV to be launched this month that slots in between the C5 X Series and the range-topping C9.
There are three variants of the C7, starting with the Luxury then the Elegance and the SHS plug-in hybrid tops off the range.
The exterior is defined by an X-shaped frameless grille combined with slim LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights.
Omoda has always been defined by its flowing designs, and in the C7, the lines from front to back give it an athletic stance, combined with 19 and 20-inch alloys with red brake callipers depending on the model.
With a 2.720mm wheelbase, there should be plenty of legroom for front and rear passengers, with 614 litres of boot space in the 1.6 TGDI and 537 litres in the SHS derivative.
The upholstery is black leather with electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, and a driver’s seat memory function. Dual-zone climate control is standard on both trims.
Behind the steering wheel, there’s an 8.88-inch digital display cluster providing all essential driving information, and the 15.6-inch infotainment display integrates vehicle controls, climate settings, and media, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Sound is provided by an eight-speaker Sony sound system in the petrol models and a Sony 12-speaker setup in the SHS, complemented by a 50-watt wireless charging pad.
There’s also intelligent high beam assist, automatic headlights and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Under the bonnet, the C7 petrol derivative has a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 145kW and 290Nm of torque while the C7 SHS plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor, generating a combined 255kW and 525Nm.

Under the bonnet, the C7 petrol derivative has a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 145kW and 290Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a claimed fuel consumption figure of 7.5 l/100km.
The C7 SHS plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor, generating a combined 255kW and 525Nm. Its Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) offers an all-electric range of 105 km, and Omoda says a total range of approximately 1,200 kilometres.
The C7 SHS is equipped with an 18.4 kWh LFP (lithium-ion phosphate) battery, which can charge from 30-80% in 20 minutes via a 40kW fast charger, or from 25-100% in two hours and 40 minutes when plugged into a 6.6 kW charger.
Both models feature Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes and have a towing capacity of 1,250kg.
