Black November is upon us once again, and with that in mind, Fast Company tried to find the best deals on the market for earphones under R3,000.

Although you can currently pick up a pair of the new Apple AirPods 4 for R1,699 on special instead of R2,899 on Amazon.co.za, this base model doesn’t have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and therefore, we avoided deals like this one.

ANC is the new buzz term in the earphones market, and it’s easy to see why.

It’s an amazing feature to have when you’re on, say, a flight somewhere and battling to hear your media because of a noisy environment.

With that in mind, here are your three best options for earphones under R3,000 during Black November.

Best Product: Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro (±R2,299 on sale)

The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro are the best offering in the R3k price bracket right now.

They deliver crisp, detailed 24-bit Hi-Fi audio, impressive active noise cancellation (ANC), and 360-degree spatial sound for a more immersive experience.

Though the earphones fit snugly in the ear, they are reported to be extremely comfortable and feel like a high-quality product, which they are.

Best Value: Soundcore Liberty 4 NC (±R1,499)

This is the dark horse among our selection. Anker’s Soundcore Liberty 4 NC offers features that usually cost double: adaptive ANC, multipoint connectivity, a powerful app for EQ tweaks, and a big, dynamic sound. The battery life is also great, as is the design.

Budget Pick: Soundcore Life P3 (from ±R1,199)

If you just want reliable, good-sounding earphones that last, the Soundcore Life P3 is your pick if budget is your main concern.

The ANC isn’t class-leading, but the sound quality, comfort, and battery life far exceed expectations for the price. These do pretty well given their price point for podcasts, runs, or commuting.
